About the Conference
This October, we will come together again for ORLEN GAS MEETING – a conference that for years has brought together experts, industry practitioners and decision-makers who play a key role in shaping the gas market in Poland and across Europe.
The 17th edition of OGM will take place at a particularly significant moment. After months of geopolitical tensions, turbulence in the LNG market and growing concerns over security of supply, one question is being raised more frequently than ever: Is Europe ready for another winter? And are higher gas prices here to stay?
Storage levels remain noticeably below historical norms, while the pace of injections is prompting increasing concerns about Europe's readiness for the upcoming heating season. What actions will the European Union take? And do the current regulatory frameworks still reflect today's market realities?
A further source of uncertainty is the ongoing conflict in the Persian Gulf region, which has driven gas prices in both Europe and Asia to their highest levels since January 2023. Any further escalation could once again alter the balance between supply and demand on global gas markets.
At OGM #17, Asia will take centre stage. As the region's influence on global gas markets continues to expand, we will explore how the world's largest Asian economies are responding to the current energy landscape. Are sustained high prices accelerating decarbonisation efforts and encouraging a shift towards alternative energy sources? Or are they driving buyers to secure LNG supplies at almost any cost? A special focus will be placed on China and its role in shaping the global energy landscape.
From China, through the Strait of Hormuz, to the Baltic Sea – OGM #17 will explore where the future of the European gas market is truly being shaped today.
